The power of yoga

This morning's "gentle" yoga class included a series of intense twists accompanied by visualization of "wringing out" the watery belly.  One should be cautious about wringing out the belly.

Unwisely, I set out on a leisurely dog walk about five hours later. A half-mile from home, I was stopped in my tracks by a high-intensity intestinal convulsion. I had planned a longer walk, but I swiveled in my tracks (confusing the dog) and walking slowly, carefully, pausing to clench up when necessary, I barely made it home in time for what surely must have been the most enormous and stormy bm I have ever experienced.

All the way home I fantasized scenarios of desperate measures undertaken in broad daylight behind skimpy deserty shrubs alongside the garages of innocent people, too many of whom were out having walks themselves in this gorgeous weather.  A young woman pushing a baby in a stroller met my frown with a wide smile. I found a smile somewhere, probably not a good one, to send back to her.

Beware the power of yoga!

Although I was sympathetic to your situation, reading this blog entry made me laugh so hard that I had to run to the wc!!!

Good. That will be my official reason for never doing yoga. I live in dread of a similar thing (not caused by yoga) happening to me on a hike or a walk, but I could never describe it the way you do - my eyes are still stinging.
